Abstract Effect.

1. First you will have to open up a new document. I will be using a 500x500 pixel document. I recommend that you don’t make it smaller than that. Open it with a black background.

 

2. Now go to Filter > Render > Lens Flare and choose the 50-300mm lens and place it randomly on your document. Do this 4 or 5 times, like this:

 

 

3. Now go to Filter > Sketch > Chrome and use these settings:

 

 

4. Copy the current layer with ctrl+j and then activate the copy layer.

 

5. Now go to Filter > Distort > Wave and use these settings.

 

 

Click randomize until you have something you like.

 

Now you should have something like this:

 

 

6. Repeat step 4 and 5 a couple of times until it looks good.

 

6A. If you want to you can always flip one of the layers horizontally to give it a better effect.

 

7. Want to add a color? Just ctrl+u to change the color of it.

 

7A. Want 2 different colors? Create a new layer. Choose 2 colors you like, I chose these:

 

 

8A. Click Filter > Render > Clouds and set the blending mode to overlay or screen, depending on if you prefer it dark or light.

 

Now you’re done and should have something looking like this:
